Control-Option-Command-Up(or down) arrow fits all tracks to window.  If your session is too big or your screen is too small it just makes them all as small as possible.

Three miscellaneous Pro Tools shortcuts!

Just three quick (but useful!) tips this week!

1. When using the selection tool (or selection portion of the super-tool) make a selection and hit command + T to trim to selection.

2. When using the trimmer tool (or trimmer portion of the super-tool) hold down control whilst trimming to avoid trimming over an adjacent region!

3. Hold down shift when cicking on a breakpoint with (super-tool or grabber tool) and it locks horizantally on the timeline.  Hold down shift-option and click a breakpoint and it locks it vertically. (ONLY works with the grabber tools, not super-tool!)

Track Name, Region Name, Take Number quirk(bug) when recording!

This is an important quirk/bug in Pro Tools if you are doing any recording where you need to keep track of take numbers.  The normal behavior of Pro Tools is to name each file that you record in the following format: “trackname_takenumber.wav” for example: “voRec_01.wav”  The region in Pro Tools will also be named “voRec_01″
