A quick and easy way to enable automation for any plug-in parameter is to Command-Option-Control click on the parameter, and select “Enable Automation for (parameter name)”. Then, use this shortcut to quickly view it in the edit window.

Essentially you can group a number of regions so that they act like one region. You can edit the region group, fade it, fade between multiple region groups or any combination of region and region group, and import/export region groups.
