Quick Video Import

by Evan on August 17th, 2009 in Keyboard Shortcuts, Post Production

Hold down the option key while dragging a video file onto the timeline, or bin to bypass the video import dialog in Pro Tools and automatically accept the defaults. This can be very handy when importing lots of video files.

Note: This only works from a digibase browser. ie: Workspace or Project browser. While not quite as handy, it’s still a time saver. Sorry for the confusion!

Selectively Suspend Automation!

by Major on August 5th, 2009 in Keyboard Shortcuts

If you Command-Click on automation parameter in the track view selection menu, you can suspend automation for that parameter.  Very handy, for example, when you want your mute automation to stop being annoying, or you don’t want a plugin’s bypass automation to fire.  Note: This shortcut does NOT apply to all tracks with the addition of the option key.
Update: It totally works now:
Option+Command+Click disables that parameter on ALL tracks.
Shift+Command+Option+Click disables all automation parameters on every track!
