Pro Tools Official Leopard Compatibility With Video

Last week, Digidesign released, well… PRE-released their Pro Tools update that officially brings Pro Tools to Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Pro Tools 8.03 will not only bring you official compatibility with OS X 10.6, but it also is the first Pro Tools release to not support some legacy hardware, such as: Original M-Box, All PowerPC Macs, Mix Era IO Peripherals (888 I/O, Adat Bridge) and The Expansion|HD Chassis.

Scroll Wheel Shortcut

When using a scroll wheel on your mouse, trackball, or tablet, there are some modifiers that can be very helpful when navigating in Pro Tools. (especially the edit window)

Shift – Scroll: Horzizontal Scroll

Option – Scroll : Zooms horizontally depending on which way you scroll.

Option – Shift – Scroll : Zooms your waveform size in the edit window.

Command – Shift – Scroll: A finer horizontal scroll.

Command – Scroll: A finer vertical scroll.

Force Paste Automation

This doesn’t come up very often, but when it does you’ll be glad this little shortcut is around.  Control+Command+V (Paste Special: To Current Automation Type) is used when you want to copy automation data from one type of parameter (for example volume automation) and paste it onto a different parameter (for example send automation).
